Frequently Asked Questions

SnapCAD supports the following CAD file formats:

• DWG - AutoCAD drawing files (versions R13 to 2024)
• DXF - Drawing Exchange Format (ASCII/Binary)

You can open DWG/DXF files exported from most CAD programs.

There are several ways to open files:

• From the app: Tap the + button on the main screen to select a file
• From Files app: Tap a DWG/DXF file and choose SnapCAD
• Share: Use the share button from other apps and select SnapCAD

If you can't open a file, please check the following:

• Verify the file is not corrupted
• Confirm the file extension is .dwg or .dxf
• Check if the file size is reasonable (recommended: under 100MB)
• Password-protected files cannot be opened

Use various gestures to navigate drawings:

• Zoom: Pinch in/out with two fingers
• Pan: Drag with one finger
• 3D Rotate: Drag with two fingers (in 3D mode)
• Fit to Screen: Double-tap to view entire drawing

2D Mode is optimized for viewing flat drawings. It offers fast rendering and accurate measurements.

3D Mode lets you view 3D models from different angles. Drag with two fingers to rotate.

Tap the 2D/3D button in the toolbar to switch modes.

Use the layer panel to show or hide specific layers:

• Tap the Layers icon in the top toolbar
• Select/deselect layers to show
• Use Select All or Deselect All for quick toggling

Yes, you can change the background color. Select from the top menu:

• White: Best for print preview
• Black: AutoCAD style, reduces eye strain
• Gray: Balanced viewing with neutral tone

To measure distance:

• Tap the Measure icon in the bottom toolbar
• Select Distance option
• Tap the start point, then tap the end point
• The measured distance will be displayed

Snap feature is automatically enabled for accurate measurements.

Yes, Area measurement and Angle measurement are premium features.

• Measure polygon areas
• Measure angles between two lines
• Use continuous measurement mode

You can cancel your subscription anytime:

iOS:

• Settings app > Apple ID > Subscriptions
• Select SnapCAD > Cancel Subscription

Android:

• Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions
• Select SnapCAD > Cancel Subscription

You'll continue to have premium access until the end of your billing period.

Your subscription is linked to your Apple ID or Google account.

Sign in with the same account on your new device to automatically restore your subscription.

If not restored, tap Restore Purchases in the app menu.
